RAIL CoLAB took part on 28 October in a reception for ACRI (Association of Czech Railway Industry) at Parque Oficinal de Guifões, in Matosinhos. The meeting was organised by CCDR-N (Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission) and the Railway Competence Centre (CCF).

The purpose of the session was to introduce the Czech delegation to the Portuguese railway ecosystem. CCF and RAIL CoLAB presented their institutional background, competences and projects. RAIL CoLAB highlighted its network of 17 associates, its four research lines and the lab wagon, as well as the digital tools AlfaData, RailTag and Rail Innovation Hub. CP gave an institutional presentation, with a special focus on the activities carried out at Guifões.

On the Czech side, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Portugal, the Director of ACRI and representatives of Škoda Group and DAKO-CZ took the floor and presented their activities. ACRI, founded in 1995, brings together 54 companies and represents a sector with around 23,000 employees, a turnover of EUR 5.4 billion and a 53% export share. It is an associate member of UNIFE, the European railway industry association.

The meeting allowed for an exchange of experiences and views on the sector, and identified opportunities for cooperation, such as testing and validation in real operation, joint R&D projects and digital services for the railway.
